Casa Mixa is in the municipality of Mijas, a charming village of the purest Andalusia style composed by white houses.

30 km separates this picturesque town from the city of Málaga, province capital where the Arab influence fuses with the Baroque and neoclassical architecture, passing from traditional models to the most avant-garde styles. This amazing variety creates an encounter place between time and cultures. In Malaga you will be able to enjoy diverse activities, such as visiting the house where Picasso lived, the Arab citadel and the Roman amphitheatre. You can walk down Larios the most commercial and famous street located in the oldest part of the city, or enjoy the typical gastronomy taking some tapas and wine elaborated by grapes from Axarquía - or eat the famous espetos of sardines.
Málaga also is a festival province, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy a typical local party almost at any time during the year. These celebrations are very traditional and its locals would transmit you their enthusiasm and happiness..

During the whole summer fairs, verbenas and pilgrimages take place among the different municipalities. The city centres of the towns, the beach and the countryside are the typical scenario of these events where you will find a mixture of gastronomy, religion and art. Also, these parties are an excellent opportunity to enjoy flamenco shows.

However if you would like to enjoy a calmer route around natural paths, we also have a comprehensive selection of places where to choose. Due to its geography, Málaga extends from Nieves' Sierra (its highest point) until the shores of Costa del Sol. There are mountainous landscapes of great geologic interest, swamps and rivers. Also you will find valleys with tropical microclimates where mango and avocados trees harvested, dry hills where it grows the jara and the span, extensions of olive and almond trees... and finally the sea.
